Introduction
There’s a certain magic that comes from revisiting cherished childhood memories, particularly those tied to family gatherings and shared meals. For me, these moments often took place in Angono, where pancit and suman were more than just dishes—they were symbols of our heritage. The savory noodles and sweet sticky rice formed the backdrop of countless celebrations, etching deep-seated connections between food and my personal identity. These beloved delicacies are not just sustenance; they’re a doorway to our past, a thread weaving through the fabric of our community.
Background on Angono’s Heritage
One of the most vivid memories I hold dear is attending the Higantes Festival. The streets came alive with larger-than-life papier-mâché giants, vibrant colors, and the unmistakable aroma of grilled seafood and local delicacies wafting through the air. It was during this festival that I truly grasped the cultural significance of our cuisine. Street vendors served up a mix of traditional and contemporary dishes, reflecting Angono’s rich cultural heritage. The event wasn’t just a celebration; it was a testament to our town’s ability to honor its roots while being open to innovation.

– “Vehicles will be checked at the security and will be asked for ID’s. I recommend to be here after 4pm. The Cafe were not so busy during that time and you would have enough time to think to order whatever you want. Your food will be prepared in time too. The view from the Cafe are awesome. Watch the beautiful city before sunset. I have witnessed the perfect sunset when we got here. Eventually, lights from the city will appear slowly. So nice to watch. For the music lovers, live band can also watch during the night occasionally. We left the restaurant before 7 and I noticed whole streets were occupied by the cars.”

– “If you are in posting photos for social media this is ok, but if you are looking for a nice food I will never recommend this. 1. I don’t mind paying expensive Liempo, but for P300+ it doesn’t worth the price, a piece liempo cut into 3 tough gummy bear. 2. Fried chicken taste dry like it was cooked from yesterday, pick from the fridge then microwave and let it stay for a while before it served. 3. There’s no special about sisig. 4. Nacho platter taste like yesterday. 1 more hour the cheese and the meat will start to spoil. 5. Rice is tough like a bahaw. 6. Service is slow, people don’t mind waiting (since they are busy taking photos) for us an hour before food is served cold kind a like sitting in the kitchen for a very long time.”
Overall Review Summary:
- Strengths: Stunning views, live music, good ambiance.
- Areas for Improvement: Food quality and consistency, service speed.
- Final Thoughts: Coffee Rush offers a beautiful setting and great views, making it an excellent spot for relaxation. However, improvements in food quality and service speed could significantly enhance the overall experience.

“Absolutely not expecting to find such a gem of a cafe in a hidden spot on the top of a hill in Rizal province. This is absolutely one of the best spots to hang out, eat, have coffee, and enjoy the astounding and exceptional view of the metro. We enjoyed our stay in Escalera majorly due to its well designed garden, simple and modern style restaurant and gazebo, and the fairly good food which includes the good bagnet with bagoong rice and fair (but honestly underwhelming / could be better) chicken waffles. Hope to visit again soon.”

“The view and location is really nice but food & drinks are overly priced and not worth it. The cheese on top of nachos and fries are not properly melted and fries itself is soggy and cold. We ordered the exact time before the cutoff since we travel long way which I know was not the perfect time to go (11 pm), but they said we can still order so we did. We are not accommodated nicely and food was served with a not so pleasant manner from staff. Ended up paying 2,600 for 4 drinks, fries, carbonara, nachos and burger. We left right before the closing time even though we just arrived (11:45) as we felt discomfort of how we are treated and dissatisfied of our overall experience. Compared to our experience before in City scape which is nearby Escalera where the staff we’re so welcoming despite us arriving also near closing time which was around 11, were there are many food choices, affordable and was even told that we can stay up to 3 am to enjoy the view (which we did), our experience in Escalera is very disappointing considering we paid and traveled more.”

The place is easy to go to (it’s kinda elevated tho, but my RFI managed to go through 🤣). The parking is easy and the attendant is nice and accomodating. The food is good, not just like the ordinary coffee shops wherein it’s only the ambiance that’s good. Everything is perfect and very relaxing. Will be my new tambayan with my wife and kid 🥰🥰🥰

“Expensive food, Poor quality. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had, not worth the detour, the burger was only a bigger version of Angel’s but costs about 10x as much, the place doesn’t even deserve the “coffee” in its name as it is only an expertly brewed nescafe 3-in-1 with solidified bits (flour??) inside sold for 130-140 each.”
Overall Review Summary:
Strengths: Good ambiance, relaxing atmosphere.
Areas for Improvement: Food quality and pricing.
Final Thoughts: Tagpuan Lakeview Coffee is appreciated for its scenic views and peaceful setting. Enhancing the quality of the food and ensuring reasonable pricing could further improve the customer experience.

“View and food were acCafe Giya is one of the best overlooking cafe in Angono, Rizal. It has a very stunning view of the city. Food is good as well, specially the bibingka with latik and pizza. We ordered pasta and it was good as well, overall our experience with cafe giya’s food is great. We just bit disappointed with the salpicao (the name of the dish if I’m not mistaken) and bbq flavor of bufalo wings. But so far all of our orders like pizza, desserts, coffee, angus beef tapa, chicken bufalo wings (Classic Flavor) all are good, but bit above average price. Service, although they are very helpful and accommodating but still on weekends you may see them very busy because of the huge crowd which is understandable. You have to wait in line for about 30 to 1 hour before you can get a table (based on my observation). My suggestion is to go there early as you can on weekends and holidays. If you really wanted to enjoy the view without the hassle of waiting and looking for the table then better go there on weekdays. You can enjoy the sunset ’till night chill. They also have some cocktail drinks you can enjoy while chilling with the majestic overlooking view. Plus ++++ Pet friendly, just be responsible pet owner and follow the establishment rules about pets. Not sure if there is a way to go here via public transportation, but if you have a car or motorcycle, the cafe is inside a subdivision with wide roads, you can park at the side you can see some signages for parking, also keep the receipt to void the payment at the subdivision’s gate. Recommended to visit! We have visited this place 2 times already at this writing.

“The coffee was good! The ambiance was perfect and despite having many customers, there was enough space to cater to us. Though be careful especially when you’re using a motorcycle (like us) the climb was very steep. The service was also good, they will serve the food right where you choose to sit to enjoy the scenery (and they served it really fast, despite having so many customers!) All in all, it was worth it and we will definitely come back again!”

“To say that this place is a DISAPPOINTMENT would be an UNDERSTATEMENT. The price of the food does not justify the quality. We ordered 2 tapa for ₱229 each and their chicken alfredo for ₱199. The tapa and rice were served COLD, the fries were SOGGY, and the egg was so OILY. The chicken alfredo had ham which was odd lol. The chicken was bland and the pasta was not Al Dente. The bread was just plain bread no butter or any other seasoning on it. Just heated bread… We also got 2 milkteas which was ₱149 each. The milktea was watered down and does not even taste like a milktea at all. At some point I wanted to throw up from the taste of the food and the milktea combined. IT WAS AWFUL. The place itself wasn’t even maintained. The tables were dirty as if they don’t wipe it after every customer. If you are going to charge a 5% service charge (which btw applies to every food and drink they offer) I’m expecting the place to be at least clean and the food to be decent. We don’t like the wasting food but for this we had no choice but to just leave the food. The only redeeming factor this place has is the view and the staff that were nice enough to reheat the food when we asked them to. But overall this is not a great place to spend your money on. Might as well just park somewhere down the road if you just came for the view. DO BETTER.
Overall Review Summary:
- Strengths: Beautiful ambiance, good service speed.
- Areas for Improvement: Food quality and cleanliness.
- Final Thoughts: Cafe Infinite offers a lovely setting and good coffee, but improvements in food quality and regular maintenance could greatly enhance the overall customer experience.

“Don’t eat any viand here, like Sinigang and Beef Stroganoff. ‘Di masarap, promise. Pati coffee nila ‘di masarap, ang cheap ng lasa. If you’re into coffee, just go to kape-hingahan na lang, tapat lang n’yan. The view is good, but selected seats lang ang tanaw yung view while dining in. Overall, 2/10. I’m a fond reviewer of restaurants all over the Philippines, and this place is not worth the money, neither the hype. “Worst dining experience out of all the places we’ve visited so far
Here are some reasons you might want to take note of before considering to visit. View: Best time to visit is around 5:30 PM-6PM to see the breath-taking sunset. Place doesn’t look as big in person than in photos. Food: Tasted ordinary and prices can be too expensive. The pasta came so late and it had too much chili flakes, poorly sliced and uncooked garlic. Service: This was the most disappointing part. Upon arrival, there were no clean tables available so we made ourselves comfortable to an uncleaned vacant one. We’re a group and some of us ordered in a single transaction. We were told that the food will be served in 15 minutes. First to arrive was 1 out of 2 orders of wings in just about 10-15 minutes, which was odd since we ordered 2 and how different would be the preparation to not be served both at once. Another 20 minutes passed and we were already feeling a bit disappointed. Went to the counter to ask for the remaining of the order, knowing that it shouldn’t take that much time and they promised 15 minutes to begin with. Mind you, a long table beside us arrived 15 minutes after we did and they got their orders complete. Turns out they knew who the owner was and moments later would chitchat at the same table, while we’re still waiting for our food. After following up, I was briefly acknowledged and said the food will be served in a few. 2/2 of the wings was served at last after 15 minutes more of waiting, including the drinks that looked like it sat and melted already. Disappointed and hungry, we followed up for the second time for the pasta, which is the last item missing. Lo and behold, we’re out of wings and drinks when it arrived. Also, the garlic wasn’t sliced properly and looks and tasted uncooked and there was too much chili flakes. It felt like they did it on purpose since we were consistently following up and expressing our disappointment. The service charge wasn’t merely servicing lol.”
Overall Review Summary:
- Strengths: Stunning views, versatile menu.
- Areas for Improvement: Food quality, service efficiency.
- Final Thoughts: Cityscape Cafe offers a beautiful setting and a varied menu, but improvements in food quality and service can greatly enhance the customer experience.

“Food – we ordered tapsilog and mango yellow smoothie. Tapsilog was sooooo good. Price was just right because they had large portions. Very tasty and perfect with suka ❤️ *Mango yellow – it was okay but I think presentation and portions could’ve been better especially with its price. Use a more presentable glass or charge less. Service – the crew were very nice and approachable. They will take photos of you per request and they always offer water. Keep it up! 💯 Atmosphere – 10/10 this place is amazing, magical even. The sunset view was perfect as in nakaharap ka talaga. It was like watching a movie. This place can be perfect for proposals, and some events.”

“I recently dined at Kabesera Café and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with my experience. The customer service was poor, as the staff seemed disinterested and inattentive. To make matters worse, the food I ordered was uncooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen multiple times. Additionally, there were far too many flies buzzing around the dining area, which was quite off-putting. On a positive note, the cafe does offer a good overlooking view of the city, which was a nice touch. Overall, I would not recommend Kabesera Cafe for a pleasant dining experience. The combination of poor customer service, uncooked food, and pesky flies outweighs the decent view.”

Position
Customer reviews have always been pivotal for businesses, capturing the rich and varied experiences, especially in cafes and restaurants. Each testimonial, whether glowing or critical, becomes a thread in the intricate tapestry of the business, shaping its growth and evolution. The mission is to delight every customer, but despite the best efforts, some gaps remain unbridgeable.
These reviews, however, are a celebration of dynamic freedom of speech and the diverse insights our patrons bring. Like the hum of conversations in a bustling café, they offer invaluable perspectives on customer experiences, guiding us toward continuous improvement and excellence. While inherently subjective, they provide a compass, steering us through the journey of enhancing our service and creating memorable experiences for every visitor.
Why Less is More
From my observations, simpler café structures like Tagpuan Lakeview and others in Rizal often attract more reviews and higher ratings compared to their more elaborate counterparts, despite similar pricing. Picture walking into one of these relaxed spots—the lively chatter in the air, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and the warm lights creating a cozy atmosphere. These places aren’t intimidating; instead, they invite you to settle into a comfy corner and let the world melt away.
This trend can be attributed to the welcoming and unpretentious ambiance these cafés offer. Their simplicity creates a sense of comfort, making patrons feel at home. This genuine and accessible experience resonates with customers seeking a relaxed and enjoyable visit. Imagine the warmth of a friendly greeting and the intimate connection with the staff, fostering a sense of loyalty and prompting glowing reviews.
Additionally, the higher ratings might stem from the fact that customers have lower expectations for simpler setups but are pleasantly surprised by the high level of service they receive. Focusing on creating a warm, inviting ambiance rather than an extravagant setup allows for a more personal connection with visitors. While full-scale cafés may convey prestige and lasting appeal, it ultimately depends on the brand and target audience. Simpler setups cater to the “masa”—a Philippine term for common folks—making it accessible for the majority to enjoy the ambiance and flavors that full-scale setups offer. The allure of these simpler venues lies in their ability to provide genuine comfort and ease.
Picture yourself strolling into one of these laid-back sanctuaries. The welcoming atmosphere envelops you, encouraging you to unwind and savor the moment. It’s an experience that calls you back, time and again, to explore and enjoy the beauty of simplicity.
